Lines of research
1) Mechanics of Structures and Materials: This line of research includes studies that address the development and use of computational codes, as well as the development of mathematical, numerical or experimental models to simulate, analyze and ascertain the mechanical behavior of materials and structures that are subject to static or dynamic loads. The aim of the courses in this line of research is for students to acquire knowledge about numerical methods, develop computational codes, material mechanics, experimental procedures for structural analysis and characterization of materials, and dynamic or static analysis of a structure.
2) Management, Technology and Sustainability in Civil Construction: In this line of research, issues related to Civil Construction will be studied, in which research is focused on the management and development of sustainable processes and technologies in order for development in Civil Construction to take place making efficient use of natural resources and having the least environmental impact possible. The aim of the courses in this line of research is for students to acquire knowledge about sustainable construction, building pathology and therapy, sustainable production management in civil construction, special construction materials, sustainable water management in buildings, performance and durability of materials.
